what i think

on question one I think that the ending to the film was a lot better than the ending in the novel although I was expecting more of a better ending in the film because of how much I didn't like the ending in the novel I wasn't jumping for joy after I saw the film either I guess since the story it self was so powerful and so just good I was waiting to be left like wow this was a fabulous ending to a fabulous film but I was like um OK better than the book but still not my wow factor. I would have loved to see what Walters fate was and if he ended up in jail or dead after the gun shot. But since i have to choose i would say the ending to the film was better for me because the novel was so confusing i was like what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
question 4 when i read the book i was thinking exactly that they would look that way especially Phyllis i knew that's what she would look like and i think they picked goo actors to play the roles the only one i thought didn't look like the image i had in my head reading the book was Mr keyes i was expecting him to look somewhat like Walter a tall handsome man and instead he was short and frumpy but as far as the rest are concerned they all were exactly what i had pictured in my head.

  1. I too liked the ending in the film a lot better, because when I read the ending in the novel it didn’t give me a wow factor either. Because I really wanted to know exactly what happened to them. In the novel you didn’t know if one decided to kill the other one, or if they both decided to commit suicide. But that’s why I enjoyed watching the film ending a lot better because Walter does kill Phyllis, and that’s what I wanted to happen. And I also think the ending in the film represents film noir better. Just because of the lighting you see when Walter steps into the house.

  2. I also liked the film ending because Phyllis got exactly what she deserves and when Walter shot her it was exotic and dirty consistent with film noir. Keys and Walter last little bond at the end when he lights his cigar was pretty telling to me. The novels ending was to confusing to me, even though Mr. Toth explained the whole moon thing I was still confused.
